Knox County Native Killed in Army Helicopter Crash

Knox County native Lieutenant Clayton Robert Cullen with the 4th Infantry Division, has now been confirmed as one of two people who died in a helicopter training accident in southern California. According to news reports, the accident happened  in the pre-dawn hours around Fort Irwin, where Cullen was training in an Army helicopter when it crashed in the Mojave Desert. Reports said the AH-64 Apache helicopter was flying “readiness training exercises” when the crash happened.

Cullen is the son of Robert and Julie Cullen of Edwardsport. Funeral arrangements will be finalized in the days to come.
