The Lawrenceville Lady basketball Indians overcame a sluggish offensive performance with strong defense on Monday night to beat the Robinson Lady Maroons at home 51-40. The Lady Indians led 13-10 after one quarter, 23-17 at the half, and 37-31 after three quarters in improving to 9-11 on the season. Sophomore Jayley Akers was outstanding on the night scoring 28 of the 51 points in the victory. The JV also won over Robinson 32-21 behind Katelyn Higginbotham with 12 points. The squad will next see action in the LIC girls tournament quarterfinals on Saturday against Paris at Casey at 6 p.m.
