Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that five people were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 37 year-old Justin Reynolds of Newton was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of residential burglary as well as two years on a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Reynolds was also sentenced to three years total of mandatory supervised release following his sentences. Reynolds is also required to pay a $500 drug assessment and court costs.
39 year-old Herbert Andrews of West Liberty was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of residential burglary, to be followed by two years of mandatory supervised release. Andrews is also required to pay court costs.
21 year-old Michael Chappell of Lawrenceville was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of theft, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Chappell is also required to pay court costs.
63 year-old Jackie Mowrer of Olney was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Mowrer is also required to pay a $500 drug assessment and court costs.
25 year-old Jared Deckard of Bridgeport was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release on each charge. The two sentences will run concurrent. Deckard is also required to pay a $500 drug assessment for each charge as well as court costs.
