Wendell R. “Wink” Shidler, age 90 of Lawrenceville, passed away early Saturday morning, December 30, 2017, in Vincennes, IN at Lodge of the Wabash. He was born November 26, 1927 in Lawrence County to Clint Shidler and his wife Grace Umfleet Shidler.
As a young man, Wendell married Shirley Bline. She preceded him in death.
Wendell and Shirley attended Central Christian Church when they were able. He proudly served the United States as a member of the Army during peacetime. He worked the majority of his life as an auto mechanic and was a former member of the Bridgeport Moose.
Surviving family includes: one son- Ronnie “Stubby” Shidler; and two daughters- Mary Shidler and Pam Hayes of Lawrenceville.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- Clint and Grace Shidler: his wife- Shirley Shidler: one sister: seven brothers (one in infancy).
As per Wendell’s wishes, cremation will take place and no formal services are planned at this time. Cunningham-Young Funeral Home of Lawrenceville is assisting the family.
