INDIANS SNAP LOSING SKID IN NEW YEAR

The Lawrenceville basketball Indians broke a five game losing streak Tuesday night with a home win over the Hutsonville-Palestine Tigers 70-62. The Tribe led 20-19 after one quarter, 45-34 at the half, and 55-44 after three quarters before holding off a late Tiger charge for the win. Four Indians scored in double digits on the night led by Jordan Jones with 16 points, Blayne Winningham and Zeus Marsh each had 14, and Ryan Moore added 11. The Tigers were led by Evan Newlin with 19. The Indian JV also won 42-27 behind Noah Weger with 12 points and Logan Williams with 11. With the win, the Indians are now 2-10 and will next see action Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Effingham St Anthony shootout against Evergreen Park.
