Thomas Hobart Ault, age 90 of rural Bridgeport, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at Aperion Care-Bridgeport. He was born June 15, 1927 in Alexandria, IN to Jake Ault and his wife Hazel (Heflin) Ault.
Tom married Marilyn Virginia Bouse in Warsaw, IN. On November 2, they had celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
As a young man, Tom graduated from Claypool High School then went in to the United States Marine Corps. He then came home and began his career as a livestock auctioneer and cattle buyer. He enjoyed raising and racing Standardbred horses and going to auction barns.
Surviving family includes: his wife- Marilyn Ault of rural Bridgeport: two granddaughters- Stacy Cronkright and her husband Jason of Indianapolis, IN and Michelle Beard and husband Aaron of Decker, IN: three great-grandchildren- Sophia Andres, Blaine Beard, and Ella Beard: one brother- Don Ault of Warsaw, IN: one sister- Jean Noggle of Indianapolis, IN: and one daughter-in-law- Pamela Zerkle of Poseyville.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- Jake and Hazel Ault: one son- Steve Ault: one brother- Joe Ault: and one sister- Phyllis Denney.
There are no formal services planned at this time. There will be a burial at a later date. Cunningham Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
