The Lawrenceville Indians lost in disappointing fashion Tuesday night at Albion to the Edwards County Lions in non-conference play 64-63 in overtime. The Tribe had battled back to lead in the fourth quarter only to see the host Lions tied the game at 55 at the end of regulation. The two teams battled back and forth in the extra period before Zeus Marsh of the Indians hit what appeared to be a winning three point basket with less than ten seconds remaining in the overtime, but the Indians fouled Edwards County sophomore Camden Cowger with 3.4 seconds left and he calmly sank two free throws to erase a one point Indian lead. A desperation shot by the Indians Conner O’Dell was off the mark and the Indians saw their losing streak extend to 3 in a row. Marsh led four Indians in double figures with 14 points, Jordan Jones had 13, and O’Dell and Christian Beamon added 11 each. With the loss, the Indians are now 1-8. The Indian j.v. won 59-35 behind Cale Powell with 21 points and Eli Ivers with 10. Next action for the Indians is Tuesday at Fairfield.
