Gaye Dawn Griesemer, age 81 of rural Olney, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Lawrenceville at the United Methodist Village-South Campus. She was born June 20, 1936 in Olney to Donald and Dorothy (Brush) Smith.
On January 9 of 1956, Omer Griesemer married Gaye Brush, and he survives.
Gaye was a long-time member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church, worked for many years as a Registered Nurse, and was a dedicated homemaker to her family. Gaye seemed to always have kids around and truly enjoyed family reunions and get togethers.
Surviving family includes: her husband of 61 years- Omer Griesemer of rural Olney: four children- Cheri Taylor and husband Terry, Ken Griesemer and wife Teria, Donald Griesemer, and Jon Griesemer and wife Amanda: eight grandchildren: fifteen great-grandchildren: and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Jesse Earnst.
A funeral service will be held for Gaye Dawn Griesemer at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will also be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until service time at noon. Burial will take place at Otterbein Cemetery south of Claremont.
