–State’s Attorney, Michael M. Strange, announced that on September 27th, 2017, Marlin D. Smith, 45, of Lawrenceville, was re- sentenced on a pair of charges. Smith had been previously placed on Drug Court Probation for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony, and Theft, a Class 4 Felony. Smith admitted to violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for probation appointments and providing a drug screen that tested positive for Methamphetamine. An agreed upon re-sentence of 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by one year of Mandatory Supervised Release was imposed. Smith is also required to pay all previously imposed fines and court costs.

—  State’s Attorney Strange also announced that on September 27th, 2017, Steven B. Queen, 26, of Flat Rock, was re-sentenced on a charge of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, a Class 4 Felony. Queen had been previously placed on 24 months of felony probation. Queen admitted to violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for probation appointments and providing several drug screens that tested positive for illicit substances. An agreed upon re-sentence of 2 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by one year of Mandatory Supervised Release was imposed. Queen is also required to pay all previously imposed fines and court costs.
