Lawrence County Sheriff Russell Adams has announced that charges were filed over the weekend against captured fugitive Michael Bryan. Bryan has been formally charged with escape and aggravated assault against an officer. Bryan was being brought back from a medical visit to the Lawrence County Health Department Friday when he overpowered a female jail matron.  She was driving him back from the visit in a jail transport van. Bryan fled on foot to the Stoltz Addition into thick woods. The jail matron was not seriously injured. An anonymous tip led to the arrest of Bryan, who was the subject of a search of the area ensued with a tactical team and helicopter. Schools were placed on lock down. Bryan was not armed but considered dangerous.  Bryan was captured at around 9:15 pm central time Friday evening near St. Francisville.
