Dewey McCarther Blair Jr. 71 of Oak Park, Michigan passed away on September 9, 2017 at 8:30 P.M. after an ongoing struggle of sickness.
He was born in Lawrenceville, Illinois on Aril 12, 1946 to the parents of Dewey McCarther Blair Sr. and Reva Beatrice Lee.
Dewey married Donaa Ruth Brashea on June 14, 1966, and enjoyed over 51 years of a loving marriage.
He served in the U.S. Army from December 1965 to December 1971.
Dewey retired from GTE after 17 years and he operated a successful Telephone Installation company for 20years afterward.
Dewey was a 32nd level Mason and enjoyed Hot Rod restoration.
He is survived by wife Donna Ruth Blair, 2 brother Pat and Roy Blair, 2 children Lisa Ann Swain and Bryan Keith Blair, 2 grandchildren Franklin Swain III and Jacquelyn Swain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Mary and Barbra and 2 half-sisters Lydia and Esther.
The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at Glasser Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with Reverend Gary Pearce officiating.Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Illinois
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
