WAKO News/Sumner man arrested on drug charges; A property damage accident in Lawrenceville; Hospital Board hears about telemedicine

 -A Sumner man was arrested on drug possession charges yesterday. Sumner Police charged 55 year-old John York with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. York was also wanted on a Jasper County warrant. York was taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

–   A two-vehicle accident occurred in Lawrenceville yesterday evening. Vehicles driven by Katherine Runyon of Linton and Catherine Wagner of Lawrenceville collided in the 600 block of Lexington Avenue at around 6:25 p.m. There were no injuries reported.

  – The Lawrence County Memorial Hospital Board of Directors met yesterday evening.  The board received an update on the implementation of telemedicine capabilities at the hospital. The hope is that it will be implemented within the next couple of months, with expansion to follow over the next several months. The board is also continuing the search for a permanent C-E-O. Board President Carl Aten says he hopes to be interviewing candidates within a month.
