Gracie Irene Barrett, 92, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the United Methodist Village-North Campus in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born March 15, 1925 in Yadkinville, North Carolina. She was raised by Henry and Elizabeth Blakley. She married Byron Barrett in 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1987.
Gracie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Central Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and Bridge Club.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Byron and daughter, Patrice Walsh.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Lee Davis and husband, Mike, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; five grandchildren, Ethan Davis, Elissa Davis, Kris Walsh, Blair Walsh, and Hannah Kleeman; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Cisne Cemetery in Cisne, Illinois. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gracie’s memory may be made to the donor’s choice.
