 Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that 52 year-old John Cogswell of Lawrenceville was re-sentenced on a charge of unlawful purchase of a methamphetamine precursor. Cogswell had previously been placed on 24 months of felony probation. He admitted to violating the terms of his probation and was re-sentenced on the original charge to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Cogswell is required to pay all previously imposed fines and costs.

 Also from the courts… 42 year-old Betty Skipper of Lawrenceville was re-sentenced a charge of retail theft. Skipper had previously been placed on 24 months of felony probation. She admitted to violating the terms of her probation and was re-sentenced on the original charge to 18 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Skipper is required to pay all previously imposed fines and costs.
