Samuel O. Penrod, 73, of Vincennes, passed away July 27, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Sam was retired from Vincennes University, where he had worked as a receiving clerk. He had also worked as a crane operator and a welder.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and travelling.
Born October 1, 1943, in Granite City, IL, he was the son of James and Anna (Needham) Penrod. His parents, 1 brother, and several sisters preceded him.
On May 20, 1983, he married Sally “Sue” Watts, and she survives him. Also surviving are his children, Anna Marie Hogan of Mt. Vernon, IN, Lynn Cravens of Evansville, IN, Samuel Penrod, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Ray Watts of Vincennes, IN, and Ricky Dean Allen of Llano, TX; his grandchildren, Chad Hogan, Scott, Samantha, and Melody Meador, Alexandria, Tyler, and Joshua Penrod, Austin Watts, and Ricky Jr. and Erica Allen, and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 – 2:00 on Friday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 2:00 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
