Two People Are Dead Following A Clay County, IL Crash

Two people died and another was sent to the hospital after a three-car crash in Clay County, Illinois yesterday morning. 

Illinois State Police say the collision happened on US Route 50 at Stanford Street in Flora just before 6 a.m. 65 year-old Walter Pollock of Missouri was driving east on US Route 40 near the intersection of Stanford Street in Flora when he swerved into the west bound lane and struck a green Chrysler minivan and then a Nissan Utility. All cars exited on the north side of the roadway. Both the minivan and the Nissan Utility became engulfed in flames killing both drivers, 29-year-old Eric Bosel of Noble, Illinois and an unnamed driver.  Pollock was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Driving Under the Influence-Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The crash remains under investigation by Illinois State Police and the Clay County Coroner’s Office.

 

A two-vehicle accident occurred in Lawrenceville yesterday afternoon. Vehicles driven by Jeffrey Jones of Sumner and Mary Davis of Lawrenceville collided in the Lawrenceville Wal-Mart parking lot. Neither driver, nor any of their passengers, were injured.
