Wabash County State’s Attorney Cassandra Goldman announced that 34 year-old Omar Natividad Gutierrez of Mt. Carmel plead guilty to a charge of aggravated DUI. The charge stems from a head-on crash south of Mt. Carmel in February that killed 67 year-old Phillip Orr of Grayville. In exchange for his plea, Gutierrez was sentenced to five and a half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. He will serve a minimum of 85 percent of his sentence, to be followed by two years of parole. Gutierrez will also be required to pay court costs.
