Walter Randy Carie

Walter Randy Carie, 80, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away July 2, 2017 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was born December 8, 1936 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of John and Edith (Lawrence) Carie. He married Henri Etta Wease on February 28, 1958 and she survives.

In his early years of faith, he began teaching bible scripture at Trinity Tabernacle of Lawrenceville, Illinois. Then became a member of Faith Bible Church of Olney, Illinois and was a member for 50 years. During that time, he taught many bible classes and scripture at his residence.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He never hesitated to help and teach others.

As well as a contractor and insulation service, he was a member of the Carpenter Local #224 and employed by Marathon Oil Company.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Norman Carie, John Carie, and Larry Carie and two sisters, Margie Carie and Pat Livingston.

Survivors include his wife, Henri Etta; two sons, Burkley Carie and wife, Connie and Francis Carie and wife, Kathy; one sister, Myra ‘Midge’ Gunn and husband, Steve; one granddaughter, Melisha Gill; one great-grandson, Thadeus Gill; one step-grandson, Kaleb Bracken, and two step-great-grandchildren, Sahannah Bracken, and Kainen Bracken.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Walter’s memory may be made to the Faith Bible Church of Olney, Illinois.
