A six year old girl was severely injured Tuesday after the ATV she was operating went down an embankment in Vigo County.
It happened in Rosedale when the child was a 3 wheeler and she missed a turn, went down a steep embankment about 20 feet and into a creek. She was pinned beneath the vehicle. Her mother removed freed her. The girl was initially taken to Union Hospital in Terre Haute and later flown to Riley in Indianapolis with chest injuries. Conservation officers say she was wearing a helmet which was slightly damaged in the crash.
