An Allendale man was injured in an accident that occurred 4 miles south of Lawrenceville early yesterday morning. Illinois State Police say 58 year-old, Mike R. Medler was traveling eastbound on Lawrence County Road 710 North, just east of County Road 1290 East, when he ran off the right side of the roadway. Medler then over-corrected and slid sideways, leaving the left side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned multiple times and Medler was ejected. He was taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and was later transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville for treatment. Medler is being charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
