The Flags of the Fallen event has been moved this year.

Started 3 years ago by Iraqi War Veteran, Frank Medlen, Jr., around 50,000 flags have been placed at the George Rogers Clark Memorial in honor of those soldiers that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Medlen had the event at his house the last 2 years. The first year, 8,000 flags were placed around his home. Last year, around 34,000 flags were placed. The donations and support from the community has increased that total to around 50,000 flags. The flags were placed by Medlen and volunteers Friday night and Saturday morning. He encourages everyone to visit the Memorial and take in the patriotic site. TAPS will be performed by Alec Willis around 8pm Tuesday evening before the fireworks.
