Deadlines to enter various competitions are quickly approaching for this year’s Illinois State Fair.
State Fair Manager Kevin Gordon says in a Wednesday statement that the ones fastest approaching are Saturday’s deadlines for the open show beef, dairy, sheep and goats. Saturday also is the deadline for junior show beef, dairy, sheep, swine, goats, poultry and rabbits. Next up is the July 7 deadline for the Society Horse Show. Late entry for that is available but fees will be doubled.
The deadline for the Twilight Parade is July 11.
Fair officials say entries much be postmarked by the following Monday if an entry deadline falls on a Saturday. More information is available on the state fair website . The fair runs from Aug. 10 to 20
