Local Winner in Prelims of Miss Indiana Pageant

South Knox student Ellie Barmes was one of the preliminary award winners at Thursday’s Miss Indiana pageant and the Pageant named a special award in honor of long-time Miss Indiana volunteer, Barbara Helm of Washington.

       Barmes was a winner in the Talent category in the Miss Outstanding Teen contest.  The 17 year old Barmes gave a vocal performance of “Ireland”. 

      Long-time Miss Indiana volunteer, Barbara Helm of Washington was honored by having a special award named for her.  The award, now known as the “Barbara Helm Miracle Maker Award” is given to the pageant contestants raising the most money for the Children’s Miracle Network, the official charity of the Miss America Organization.
