Ralph W. Miller

Ralph W. Miller, 89, of 1119 N. Fox Ridge Links Drive, Vincennes, went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2017.

He was born March 23, 1928 in Van Wert, Ohio to Russell E. and Anna Miller. Ralph was a 1946 graduate of Hoaglin- Jackson High School in Ohio and on September 20, 1949 he married Ruth Louise Peters.

Ralph worked as an insurance adjuster Calvert Fire and Causality, and for many years as branch manager in insurance adjusting at American States Insurance Company, later known as Safeco Insurance. His excellent work performance resulted in many company presidential awards and acknowledgements. A tireless worker in the St. John Lutheran Church, he was Chairman of the Board of Elders and had also served as President of the congregation.

He leaves behind a daughter, Pamela (Miller) Wolfe of Lakeland, FL; a son, Rick Miller and his wife Patricia of Vincennes, and a son, Jeffrey Miller and his wife Susan of Bloomington, IN; a brother, Kenneth Miller of Van Wert, Ohio; a grandson, Kristopher Wolfe and his wife, Petya, and their two sons, Marek, Konstantin, and daughter Nikita, of Lakeland, FL, a grandson, Kevin Wolfe of Vincennes, a granddaughter, Katherine (Wolfe) Maroney and her husband Charlie, and their children Harley, Crystalynne, and Maxin of Van Wert, OH, a granddaughter, Renee’ (Miller) Richardville and her husband Matt, and their sons Grant, Jason, Caleb, and Elliot of Vincennes, a grandson Eric Miller and his wife Kirsten, and their sons Bronson and Bowen of Vincennes, IN, and granddaughters Allison Miller of Robinson, IL and Abby Miller of Indianapolis, IN.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Ruth Louise (Peters) Miller on September 22, 2015; his sister Alice Wright, and a brother, Keith Miller.

Ralph’s funeral service, conducted by Rev. Ron Maxwell, will be on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 Wednesday at the Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. John Lutheran Church Day Care or to the church.
