Two from Gibson County injured Sunday on 50…a hit and run investigated by LPD
Two Fort Branch residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident in Lawrence County yesterday afternoon. Ashley Akin was driving on U.S. 50 near the Sumner-Chauncey Road intersection when she reached into the back seat. Akin lost control of her 2013 Chevy, which left the roadway and rolled over. Both Akin and a passenger, Corrine Akin of Fort Branch, were injured and taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Lawrenceville Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident which took place in the Wal-Mart parking lot over the weekend. A parked and unattended 2010 Mercedes-Benz owned by Steve Ramsaran of Lawrenceville was reportedly struck by an unidentified vehicle which left the scene. Police continue to investigate.
