Richard M. “Dick” Rice

Richard M. “Dick” Rice, age 92 of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 26, 2017. He was born in Benton, IL on February 2, 1925 to Edward J. and Mildred (Whittington) Rice.

On January 22, 1984, Dick married Nancy Sue Jennings Bechtel in Las Vegas, and she survives.

Dick proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during World War II as a pilot. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Dick owned and operated a Janitorial Supply Company in Chicago and in Arizona.

Surviving relatives include: his wife of 33 years- Nancy Sue Rice: two daughters: four sons: one step-daughter: three step-sons: three sisters-in-law: two brothers-in-law: numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Graveside services will be held for Richard M. “Dick” Rice at Bluff Cemetery near Petrolia (north west of Bridgeport on the Applegate Road) on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport will be handling the arrangements.
