School building fire still being investigated…city pool opens today…

 

FIRE INVESTIGATION

  The Illinois Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the fire destroyed that much of the former Lawrenceville High School building Thursday night. The fire started just after 6 p.m. central Thursday  in the building’s east wing, and spread through the middle of the building into part of its west wing.  The building was under the ownership of Nelo and Paul Patti of Sommerset, New Jersey at the time of the fire. A cause for the fire has yet to be determined. Investigation into the blaze continues.

ARREST REPORTS

  Lawrence County authorities arrested three Vincennes men yesterday on warrants. 27 year-old Dylan Jones, 23 year-old Brandon Littlejohn and 29 year-old Rodney Sherman were all charged with failing to appear in Lawrence County Circuit Court.  Jones, Littlejohn and Sherman were all taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

RENDEZVOUS

 The annual Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous is set for this weekend. There will be food, entertainment, merchant locations, and battle re-enactments as part of the Rendezvous. The event runs from nine a-m to six p-m eastern today, and from ten a-m to five p-m eastern tomorrow on the grounds of the French Commons located at Second and Willow behind the George Rogers Clark National Historic Park.

 

CITY POOL OPEN

  The Lawrenceville City Pool will open today. Admission will be free for today. Concessions will be available. Summer hours for the city pool will be noon to 6 p.m. central Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. central Sundays. Anyone wanting more information can call 618-943-6066.
