Congressional Art Competition Winner is from Danville, runners-up from Lawrenceville

Congressman John Shimkus announced that Lauren Sprague, a student of First Baptist Christian School in Danville, was selected as this year’s Congressional Art Competition winner from the Illinois 15th Congressional District. Sprague’s winning piece will be displayed for the next year in the pedestrian tunnel that connects the U.S. Capitol with the Cannon House Office Building.  Shimkus also announced four runners-up in this year’s competition. Among them were Avery Layne Kasinger from Lawrenceville High School and Zebulon Zeigler from Red Hill Jr./Sr. High School. Their pieces will be displayed in the Congressman’s Maryville, Harrisburg, Danville and Effingham District Offices.
