New and somewhat bizarre information has been made available about the murder of John “Doug” Lowe of Decker. Lowe was found shot to death at his Decker apartment last Wednesday.

Two Princeton men, 41 year-old Jeremy Schatz, and 27 year-old Christopher Schatz, are facing murder charges in the case.  Both were arrested Sunday.

According to broadcast and other reports, the affidavit of probable cause filed in the case, both men admitted to being part of the shooting. However, each one accused the other of actually firing the fatal shot. Both men also told officials that they were allegedly working for the Department of Justice. Court documents also state that Jeremy Schatz told authorities that Christopher Schatz told him of an E-mail from the Department of Justice ordering them to kill Lowe. Further, Jeremy Schatz’s statement claims the Department of Justice ordered the killing because Lowe had refused to take a job with the Department. The document also claims Jeremy Schatz told authorities the “hit” was ordered because the Department was afraid Lowe would testify against the Department of Justice.

The case has been assigned to Knox Superior Court One. No initial hearing date or time has been set at this point.
