Hattie Marie Allen, age 90 of Lawrenceville, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Vincennes, IN at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born September 30, 1926 in Morehead, KY to Lonnie Horton and his wife Jessie Mable (Litton) Horton.
She married Robert L. Allen in Mt. Carmel on February 22, 1972. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2008.
Hattie was a loving homemaker to her husband and daughter. She enjoyed shopping and flowers. Hattie was a caregiver outside of the home for many years and also worked as a nurse’s aide.
Surviving family includes her daughter, Shirley Allen of Lawrenceville, and four brothers Bronson Allen of Canton, OH, Wendell Horton, Carl Horton, and Larry Horton all three of Morehead, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held for Hattie Marie Allen at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
