Study of county buildings presented to the commissioners

feasibility-study

Architect Andy Myszak presented the Knox County Commissioners last night with the results of a feasibility study of county owned buildings.

The study was undertaken to determine how to maximize existing space in the buildings or areas which can be reconfigured for better use.

Myszak says the report includes a summary on each building including the courthouse, annex and county jail among others.

The report also includes recommendations from county department heads about their needs and what they would like to see accomplished.

Myszak says the next step is to sit down with the commissioners and form a plan of action on how to address some of the issues presented in the report.

No action was taken last night. Myszak will meet with the new commission members after the 1st of the year to determine a process for addressing some of those needs.
