The Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes reached it’s fundraising goal of a quarter million dollars.

The Vincennes Sun Commercial says the donations came in time for them to apply for a matching grant to expand the museum on Willow Street near the Rendezvous grounds.  Some of the big donors including the Greenup, Illinois based Jay E. Hayden Foundation, a long supporter of the museum. They gave 100-grand.  The Vincennes City Council pledged 50 thousand. Toyota donated 40 thousand.  All that was received in since fundraising started but curator Jim Osborn was still 30 thousand short of the goal as of last week.  The Cook Group offered that money to get the grant application in on time.  They are also providing design and architectural support. The Sun Commercials say funds will be used to convert two-thirds of an existing warehouse into expanded — sometimes interactive and “diorama-like” — exhibits
