Judith Ruth Dougherty, 81, of Santa Claus, passed away Saturday.
Born March 15, 1935, in Washington, she was the daughter of the late J. Clinton and L. Ruth (Feagans) Dougherty. She was a 1953 graduate of Plainville High School.
Judith was an avid Indiana University basketball fan. She enjoyed reading, feeding birds, and sending cards to relatives and friends. She was also a 58-year member of The Order of The Eastern Star. She was a member of Plainville United Methodist Church, where she held many offices.
She is survived by a sister, Wilma Louise “Billie” Sparger; two nieces, Susan (Larry) Lumpkins and Marilyn Moczgemba; a nephew, Alan (Theresa) Sparger III; seven great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mike and Gaye Rickenbaugh and family. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gill Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Plainville Cemetery.
