Police departments from Knox County participated in a domestic violence training workshop at Vincennes University Wednesday.

Director of Hope’s Voice, Melissa Haff says the program enables officers to identify victims of domestic violence who are at the highest risk of being seriously injured or killed.

The Lethality Assessment Program-was created by the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence in 2005, as an innovative strategy to prevent domestic violence homicides and serious injuries.

Hope’s Voice in collaboration with the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office and police departments in the county will be implementing the program beginning in January of 2017.
