The 19th annual Shop with a Cop in Vincennes will be December 13th.
The event is sponsored each year by the Vincennes Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #62. Funds are raised through donations and on shopping day about 200 local kids from three to six years old attending area Head Start Schools are escorted to the local Wal-Mart to buy needed clothing and some toys. It’s also a time for law enforcement to bond with kids who may not normally see a police officer in a positive light or situation.
The kids will have a police escort to Wal Mart the morning of December 13th and after shopping are treated to a visit with Santa.
