Barbara Ellerman-Van, 77, of Flat Rock, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Methodist Hospital.
Born February 22, 1939, in Lawrenceville, IL. She was the daughter of Albert and Eleanor (Edgington) Culp.
Barbara was a farmer and after that she worked at the Court House in the child support division. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and playing cards. She had been a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, Daniel Van whom she married on July 31, 1998; sons, Paul W. Ellerman Jr., of Vincennes, Arlen Ellerman and his wife Vickie, of Vincennes; daughters, Karen Cook and her husband Bob, of Crawfordsville, Dawn Renee Ellerman, of Indianapolis; brothers, Leroy Culp, of Vincennes, Tom Culp, of Decker, and Leon Culp, of Decker; grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Andrea and Tonya Cook, Emily Russell and Eli Ellerman; great-grandchildren, Landon Huner, Luke Forest Cook, Andi, Coral and Jeremiah Russell.
Preceding her in death are his parents; daughter, Alethea Gay Ellerman in 1982; a brother Herbert Culp and her first husband Paul W. Ellerman Sr. in 1994
A funeral service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church with Rev. Nathan Rastl on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 am. Friends and family can visit with Barbara’s family Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home from 2:00pm-6:00pm and from 10:00 am until the service on Monday at the church.
