The Gibson County Prosecutor’s Office confirms that petitions have been filed against four juveniles in connection with the investigation into hazing allegations in Wood Memorial’s football team.

Petitions are similar to charges filed in traditional court, but juvenile court is focused more on rehabilitation rather than prosecution.

Back in September, parents of a minor filed a tort claim seeking $700,000 in damages for emotional and physical injuries. The parents claimed East Gibson School Corporation did not properly supervise the football team, or refused to address issues of systematic hazing, where older players battered, abused, sodomized, bullied or terrorized younger players and students.
