Lee Allen Pepmeier, 88, of Sandborn

Lee Allen Pepmeier, 88, of Sandborn, IN, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 7:10pm at Gentle Care Nursing Home with family members by his side.

Born September 27, 1928, in Knox County, IN, he was the son of Henry and Hulda (Lichte) Pepmeier.
Lee was a lifelong farmer and served his country in the Army during WWII. While in the Army he served with the occupational troops in Japan.  A member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia, he loved the outdoors, animals, and life.
Surviving are his daughters, Kim Everett and her husband, Dennis, of Vincennes; Karen “Kay” Pepmeier of Westphalia, IN; a brother, Glen Pepmeier of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Allison Ayers and her husband, Noah, Aaron White, and Nathan White; step-grandchildren, Jeremy Adams and Nichole Everett; three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Shirley (Joice) Pepmeier whom he married on June 18, 1950 and she preceded him on August 30, 2016.
An outdoor funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery at 10:00 am. Friends may visit with Lee’s family at Goodwin Funeral Home Friday from 4:00-7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem United Church of Christ.
