The Bicknell Board of Works has awarded a contract to United Excavating for 863-thousand dollars for the city’s storm water project. Mayor Thomas Estabrook says the project is expected to get underway later this month and continue over the winter. Estabrook says the upgrades will address several major storm water drainage problems throughout the city.
The work is being paid for by a federal grant that was awarded to Bicknell earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, the Board of Works also approved an addition to the city’s ongoing paving project. The work calls for the paving of one block of East 1st Street between Washington and Miami streets. Estabrook says the work will be completed in the next week.
