Lloyd Dale Wagoner, 85, of Vincennes

Lloyd Dale Wagoner, 85, Vincennes, passed away surrounded by his family Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital. 

Dale was born September 24, 1931, in Knox County, the son of Lisker Vaughn and Anna Louise (Devers) Wagoner. He married Shirley Cardinal on June 16, 1956. He retired as a truck driver and was also retired from the railroad as a brakeman. He loved playing cards, his family and especially his grandkids. Dale served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, where he started Euchre night, Texas Hold ‘Em for members only and the Knights of Columbus turkey shoot. Dale was a member of the Vincennes American Legion, Decker Alumni, and the United Transportation Union. He was also a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Dale is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Greg Wagoner of Danville, IN; daughters, Sherri (Larry) Shots of Vincennes and Brenda (Bernie) Butcher of Washington; grandchildren, Wendy Wagoner of Tanzania, Africa, Nicholas Wagoner of Plainfield, Dr. Rachael Kerschner of Columbus, IN, Christie Clayton of Haiti, Sarah Bell of Concord, NC, Airman Zachary Shots of Aurora, CO, Jacqueline Dale Shots of Vincennes, Anna Marie Grannan of Bloomington, and Colton Butcher of Washington; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Jennie) Wagoner of San Antonio, TX, Don Wagoner of Vincennes, Vaughn (Peggy) Wagoner Jr. of Vincennes, and Fred (Sue) Wagoner of Decker; sister, Betty Ruth (Jack) Dunlap of Lawrenceville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Benita Wagoner; and eight brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Kaiser and Rev. Dave Fleck officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a vigil service at 8:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. He will be laid to rest at Mt.
