The final piece is in place for developers to proceed to the next step in development of a new multi family living complex along 1st Street.

The Vincennes Board of Zoning Appeals Thursday approved a conditional use for Myszak & Palmer to move forward with plans for a new 3-story apartment complex at 104 North 1st Street.

Architect Andy Myszak is planning on purchasing the property from Robinson Grain Elevator, Incorporated. Myszak told the B-Z-A the entire deal is contingent on him obtaining tax credits through the Indiana Housing Community Development Authority

Myszak says they expect to receive word on whether their grant application is successful in late February of 2017. The tax credits are similar to the ones used for the development of the Clark’s Crossing Development on Sixth Street.

The new apartment complex would have 32 affordable and 10 market rate apartments for rent. With 1400 feet of retail space on both ends of the building for businesses. Myszak says they plan to market the apartment building to both senior citizens and young professionals.
