26-year-old Lance Marley of Princeton formerly of Wheatland will face murder charges in the death of Lyndsey Fleck. He was officially charged Monday morning in Princeton.

Marley was booked into the Gibson County Jail shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. According to police, the incident started as a domestic dispute on south 4th street in Princeton. Fleck died as a result of the injuries she received in the incident. Autopsy results showed she died of stab wounds. The crime scene was said to have shown signs of extensive violence and even a cat was stabbed.

Marley could face up to 65 years in prison if convicted. His next court appearance is November 14th.

According to court reports, Gibson County Chief Deputy Prosecutor  Sharon Werne called the crime a “most extreme result of domestic battery”.

The Vincennes Sun Commercial reports Marley had faced various battery charges in Knox County dating back seven years.  There was a child at the home of the murder scene in Princeton Sunday.  The newspaper said Marley had pleaded guilty in a battery case involving that child’s mother.  That incident happened in Pike County.
