Richard G. Schingeck, 84, Vincennes, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his residence.
Richard was born July 19, 1932, in Mt. Clemens, MI, the son of Milton E. and Florence (Otte) Schingeck. He married Barbara Longest on September 8, 1958. Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean War, then went into the civil service and worked in planning as an engineer for Long Beach Naval Shipyard for 28 years.
Richard is survived by his sons, Douglas Schingeck (Laura Draper) of Sierra Madre, CA, Dennis Schingeck (Barbara Morgan) of Vincennes, Dean (Robin) Schingeck of Vincennes, and Dale Schingeck of Vincennes; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Wood of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, Robert (Jackie) Schingeck of Balleman, MD and James (Doreen) Schingeck of Seattle, WA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara on February 26, 2014; parents; sister, Sally Kebbler; brothers, Donald, Harold, and Daniel Schingeck.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. There will be no funeral services. A private burial will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.fredrickandson.com.
