New governor poll released

A new Monmouth University poll was released Friday, gauging the political winds. 


The  poll says John Gregg is well ahead of Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb in the race for governor. The poll finds a major shift in the race to succeed Pence as governor. His 2012 opponent , former Indiana House Speaker John Gregg is currently leading Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb by a 50% to 38% margin. Another 4% support Libertarian Rex Bell and 7% are undecided. Responding to the announcement, the Holcomb campaign released a poll they commissioned from BK Strategies showing the candidates in a dead heat with 42% each. The margin of error is 3.5 percent. The Monmouth poll was conducted by telephone from Oct. 11-13. The Holcomb campaign poll was conducted by telephone over the same time period.
