The Vincennes University Foundation celebrated partnerships at its annual dinner Wednesday night.

Keynote speaker and President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Norm Bafunno cited partnerships as one of the reason that Toyota is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its groundbreaking in Gibson County.

Toyota has hired 19 graduates of VU’s Advanced Manufacturing Program, which partners with Toyota to gain the students experience in working in an industrial plant atmosphere. In June an additional 18 students started the program, which promotes the opportunity of full-time employment upon completion.

In less than a month Toyota will launch the 2017 Highlander, illustrating the progress the company makes, thanks to the partnerships.
