DLC Media buys 4 radio stations in the Terre Haute, Indiana Market.

DLC Media, Inc. has agreed to purchase four additional radio stations in the Terre Haute Metro. According to DLC Media, Inc. President and General Manager, Dave Crooks, the transaction involves radio stations currently licensed and owned by both Emmis Communications and Midwest Communications.

DLC Media has agreed to purchase from Emmis Communications:

-WWVR-FM 105.5 in West Terre Haute

-WFNB-FM 92.7 in Brazil

-WFNF-AM 1130 in Brazil and FM Translator W258BA-FM 99.5 in Terre Haute

DLC Media has agreed to purchase from Midwest Communications:

-WDKE-FM 95.9 in Seelyville

DLC Media already owns and operates WAXI-FM 104.9 in Rockville. According to Crooks, he plans on moving 105.5 FM to DLC’s Parke County studios. The remaining stations will be moved to new studios and offices which will be constructed at 111 West National Avenue in Brazil. Crooks added, “I worked in the Brazil community from 1983-1988 at the former WSDM-WBZL Radio Stations. I’m excited to be bringing their local radio stations back from Terre Haute to Brazil where they belong. We plan on super-serving the Clay County area by broadcasting local news and information and returning Northview High School Sports to the radio. However, this transaction will allow DLC Media to greatly expand its audience in the Terre Haute Metro especially in Vigo, Clay, Parke, Vermillion and surrounding counties.

DLC Media recently purchased WAKO-FM 103.1 and WAKO-AM 910 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. DLC is currently operating those radio stations under a Local Marketing Agreement pending approval from the Federal Communications Commission. However, under the terms of this new transaction the company will wait for final FCC approval before operating the additional Terre Haute area stations which may take 90 days.
DLC Media is owned by Dave Crooks, a 35 year veteran of local radio. He is also a former Indiana State Representative (1996-2008). The company is based in Washington, Indiana where he owns and operates WAMW-FM 107.9, WAMW-AM 1580, W240CE-FM 95.9 in Washington. DLC Media, Inc. operates WFML-FM 96.7 in Vincennes on behalf of the Vincennes University Foundation. When all transactions are approved, DLC Media will eventually own 10 radio stations in the Terre Haute Television Market.
