The United Way of Knox County will be conducting its annual Day of Caring event today and tomorrow.
United Way Director Mark Hill says there will volunteer opportunities at the various agencies they support through out the city and county. The work includes painting, cleaning, lawn care, organizing, and other unique activities.
In addition, the United Way will be assisting area Food Banks re-stock their shelves for the fall. Hill says they’ll have food collection points set-up outside of Save-a-Lot, Wal-Mart and Dollar General in Vincennes.
They’ll be handing out flyers to shoppers with a list of items in hopes they’ll purchase an item or two and drop them off at the collection point outside of the store.
