Voices United Red Flag Campaign starting today

Vincennes University’s Voices United will host a noon time ceremony today to draw attention to the problem of domestic violence.

Students, Faculty and Staff are invited to participate as the group kick’s off its Red Flag Campaign.

Melissa Haaff with Hope’s Voice says 1 in 5 college students experience dating violence. She says Red Flag campaign encourages friends and other campus community members to say something when they see warning signs that is the”red flags” of  sexual assault.

The kick-off rally will be held in front of the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center starting at Noon today. The event will also be streamed live on WVUT’s PBS Facebook page.

Haaff reminds the public that Hope’s Voice has a 24 hour hotline to assist victims of Domestic Violence. The number is 812-899-HOPE.
