The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has issued an Air Quality Action Day today.

They say high ozone levels are forecast for Daviess, Knox, Pike, Greene and Dubois Counties, as well as the counties of Warrick, Perry, Posey, Spencer and Vanderburgh in Southwest Indiana.

Anyone sensitive to changes in air quality including children, the elderly or anyone with heart or lung conditions could be affected and should reduce or avoid heavy work and exertion outside today.

IDEM says we can reduce ozone by walking, biking, carpooling or using public transportation to get to our destinations.  They suggest avoiding the use of the drive through and combining errands into one trip.  Avoid refueling vehicles or gas powered engines until after 7-pm and conserve energy by using less electricity.
