Unemployment is down again

More people working in August.

Indiana’s unemployment numbers were released Tuesday and the number is at 4.5 percent according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That’s one of the lowest numbers of unemployed people in recent years.

More than 3,000 people went to work in the last month in the state, making Indiana one of the top states for employment growth.

Lt. Governor Eric Holcomb, the Republican nominee for governor, released a statement saying Indiana’s economy is booming, and the  news is further evidence of just that.

State Democrats held a press conference urging Holcomb to move away from Pence administration policies, which they say have failed the economy.

Democrat candidate John Gregg described the state’s economy as sluggish.
